    Description

    The uniqueness of Sylvia’s modular design allows for this wrap-around sewing cabinet that accommodates two of the new, larger sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines.  The expanse of the workspace and storage area puts what you need conveniently within reach.

    This sewing cabinet also features commercial-grade locking casters that make it easy to move the cabinet around your sewing studio, even on carpet.  Glue and dowel construction for tight, strong joints. 

    The hinges are flush with the top surface to keep your fabrics or quilts from snagging. When you sew you are centered right in front of the needle, keeping you in a comfortable position. Complete with durable stain, scratch, and heat resistant melamine finish ~ and you choose your color!

    As you take a look at this U2810 you can see what the 810 looks like closed and the 1570 optional extension where we have it listed separately.

    Options

    Options expand with Sylvia Design with their unique way of making separate units that fasten together.  You can choose to upgrade and have a sewing cabinet above and beyond your expectations.

    An option is to add one of the  1570 Extensions to the front of the 810 unit.  This gives you room to support those large projects and have an extra work surface.  It measures Width: 35 1/4″ Depth: 19 7/8″ Height: 29 3/4″

    The 817 Drop leaf in the back of the 810 also allows for better support to your projects.  Also, see the Sylvia Design U2610.  Please note that the U2610 has smaller sewing machine holes.

    Another option for the U2810 is to put the 810Q on the left side to replace the 810.  If you take a look at the 810Q by itself, you will see that it allows better support for those large projects. The Q stands for Quilting. 

    On the right side of the Sylvia Design U2810 you can choose to have a serger opening or the second sewing machine.  The standard serger hole size is 17 1/2" x 13 7/8.  If you have a larger serger such as the Baby Lock Triumph or Ovation you will need the larger serger hole size of 20" x 14".  This uses up all the space and a drop-leaf can not be attached to the back of the 810.

    You are Responsible to check the Sewing Machine Hole Size

    Be sure to measure your sewing machine with all attachments removed.  For the best fit, allow 2 extra inches around your machine for the insert to fit well.  The extra 2" also allows room for your machine to raise and lower freely with the lift and the sewing machine cords.

    The standard sewing machine opening size can be found in the specifications.

    Acrylic Insert

    Inserts are designed to fit your specific make and model of sewing machine and cabinet and fill gaps around your sewing area*, allowing you to work more efficiently and comfortably. They are made with one of the highest grades of acrylic.

    All the inserts are designed based on having the accessory tray removed from the machine.  The insert is designed to be perfectly level with the free arm of the machine.  If you have a top-loading bobbin this may affect your use. 

    Occasionally those that are custom cutting the insert will have additional questions about your sewing machine, or the hole that they are fitting, and you will be asked more questions.

    Lift

    The U2810 comes with 2 lifts!

    The Merz heavy-duty lift is made in Germany and has three positions for your sewing machine, holding up to 60 pounds. 

    1. Positioned all the way down, you can close up the sewing machine cabinet completely.
    2. In the middle position, the arm of your sewing machine is flush with the top of your cabinet for sewing and quilting.  This position is meant to be used with an optional sewing machine insert that fits around the arm of your machine. 
    3. All the way up, the third position allows you to take advantage of your sewing machine free arm and use your embroidery unit.

    With three positions you can sew ergonomically and be comfortable as you sew.

    The lift allows 21.65" of height for your sewing machine and holds up to 60 pounds.

    Finishing Touches

    Sylvia Design finishes are made of hardwood melamine which is durable, heat, scuff, scratch, and stain-resistant. The tops and bottoms of the sewing cabinets are 3/4" thick and the upright pieces are 5/8" thick.

    Choose from any of the six beautifully rich colors that Sylvia has to offer: Castle Oak, Sunset Cherry, Twilight Linea, Brown Pearwood, White, and White with Oak trim. Every Sylvia cabinet is completely finished front to back, inside and out.

    The cabinet comes mostly assembled. All you do is attach the commercial-grade locking casters and the different units. The cabinet even comes with a lifetime warranty.

    Sylvia Design is currently taking approximately 18 weeks to get their orders ready to ship.

    Delivery with a trucking company.  The cabinet is secured on a pallet in one box.  You will need to be home to receive your cabinet and sign for it.

      A General Introduction

      Many of our products are custom made.  That means that the products are not made until you order it.  We do our best to keep each brand updated on the order page for what to expect for shipping times. 

      Our custom orders especially take longer to make.  If your order is custom it can be as long as 20 weeks before it is shipped.  But so worth the wait for the quality of the product!

       When we ship a large custom-made Amish product, it is usually blanket wrapped and handled with care.  Because we use some smaller companies that actually hand craft the products, you will not always get a tracking number.  Nor will you get a receipt included with your shipment.  Make sure you keep your email receipt.         Since large furniture comes via truck, not UPS or FedEx, someone will need to be home when it is delivered to sign for the product. Provide as many phone numbers as possible to be sure the shipping company can contact you for delivery.

      Shipping Furniture

       EXPECT DELAYS.  We are seeing shipping taking more time as more and more shipping lines are interrupted.  

      Shipping for large furniture is for curbside delivery.  When the furniture is off the truck at the end of your driveway, the truck driver’s job is done.  It is not the drivers obligation to remove the cabinets from the boxes, or wrapping, nor is it the drivers job to get the furniture inside your house.  Usually the delivery company will make an appointment with a window of time for your delivery. Please read the entire shipping page to understand what your responsibilities are.

        When you sign the delivery receipt from the freight company’s driver it is a legal contract signifying that you received the product in acceptable condition. ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR SHIPMENT BEFORE SIGNING FOR IT. 

      Be prepared to inspect your shipment before signing. Have a knife to cut off the packaging and any other tools that may be needed. 

      White Glove delivery has become increasingly difficult to purchase since the shipping companies do not want the liability of entering homes.  For many areas it simply is not available.  We would encourage you to hire a local handy man or mover to assist you in getting your shipment into your home.

      Also be sure you have measured doorways, halls and stairs to know that your furniture will fit where it needs to go. 

      White Glove

      White Glove delivery has become increasingly difficult to purchase since the shipping companies do not want the liability of entering homes.  For many areas it simply is not available.  We would encourage you to hire a local handy man or mover to assist you in getting your shipment into your home.

      Please remember that White Glove does not mean faster shipping, it means your furniture will be brought into your home.  All shipping has the possibility of delays.

      Damage

      If there should be a slight damage, where it could easily be replaced by you, take note on all copies you sign. It is your right to inspect the product. Do not sign for it, if the driver does not allow you to inspect it. Remember, signing is a contract.  Should there be damage, a claim cannot be made to the freight company if it is signed as acceptable.  Then you assume all responsibility.

       Since custom orders are very specially made for your particular size or style choices they can not be returned.  However.  If the product is faulty in any way, please contact us and we will do our best to take care of the situation.  We work with outstanding woodworkers, and they do an exceptional job, so it would be a rare need.

       

      We work very hard to ensure that we offer the absolute best prices online.  If you find another online store that offers a lower price than us within one month (30 days) of your purchase date, please let us know and we will refund your original payment for the difference.  We want you to feel confident that you are getting the absolute best price for the product you are ordering.
