Description
Sew Steady Cabinet Insets & Inserts are designed to fit your specific make and model of sewing machine and cabinet and fill gaps around your sewing area*, allowing you to work more efficiently and comfortably. They are made with one of the highest grades of acrylic.
All the inserts are designed based on having the accessory tray removed from the machine. The insert is designed to be perfectly level with the free arm of the machine. If you have a top-loading bobbin this may affect your use.
Please choose your general size and style of insert. The actual size of the opening in the cabinet is needed to complete your order.
Inserts have a lip to catch on the cabinet top – this is when the cabinet opening has no method to support the insert.
Insets (no lip) sit flush inside the cabinet opening & rest on a ledge built within the cabinet.
The measurements we need is the hole size on your sewing cabinet. Please call 406. 291. 5197 if you need further assistance.
The make and model of the cabinet can also be used to help ensure the proper insert is selected.
The make and model of your sewing machine are also needed.
CUSTOM
If you are purchasing an acrylic insert for a custom-made cabinet or a modified standard cabinet there is an additional charge. If your cabinet does not fit the standard cabinet sizes that are in the industry ( Arrow, Tracey's Tables, Koala, etc.) then there may be an additional $75 charge to cut your insert for your cabinet.
After you place your order, and we consider the dimensions, we will contact you again with questions and send you an invoice for the additional custom charge if needed.
PLEASE NOTE:
It has been requested by cabinet manufacturers to center large machines on the lift to ensure it does not compromise the integrity of the cabinet lift. Requests outside of this may void the warranty on your cabinet.
We would like to understand if our standard insert placement details below will need to be modified to work with your machine.
To help you determine what you need and get your order correct the first time, take a close look at the pictures, and answer the questions by checking the "yes" when you place your order.
- Please place your machine in your cabinet opening.
- Please insert your knee lift bar into the machine.
- Please answer the following questions to finalize placement:
The standard position of the machine in the cabinet opening from front to back is centered. Will this work for you? ___________
(If no, please indicate in measurements of 1/16”-increments how far from the front of the opening to the front of the freearm you wish to have your machine sit:)
The standard position of the machine from left to right is to have 1"-3” to the right of the machine to allow room for the machine to lower up and down on the lift. The gap allows room for the handwheel and cords that typically are located on the right of the machine. Will this work for you? _____________
(If NO, please indicate in 1/16”-increments how much space you will have between the left/tip of the free arm of the machine and the left of the cabinet opening)
Our goal is to get you the right insert the first time. If you decide you do not like the placement requested the first time there is a $30 fee for a 2nd revision.
This is a custom order. Please allow 3 weeks for this custom cut to be made for you.
Cleaning
Use only 100% cotton towel to clean the surface of the acrylic. Use a very small amount of sudsy ammonia diluted with water to clean. Other tested and proven cleaning agents are Sew Steady Polish Kit, Turtle Wax Paste, and Goo Gone Gel. Similar untested products may work but use at your own risk.
Caution
Do not place anything hot on acrylic. Never have sewing machines that are lower than the acrylic insert. Do not apply unnecessary pressure outside of standard sewing use to acrylic.
Warning
Do not use harsh solvents such as Windex, rubbing alcohol, paint thinner, lacquer thinner acetone, turpentine, or any petroleum-based substances as they can cause the acrylic to weaken and crack. If harsh solvents are used on acrylic the warranty is void.
Warranty
Dream World Northwest warrants this product to the original purchaser for 1 year from the purchase date to be free of defects in material and workmanship. This does not include cracks, scratches, or dents with normal use. Over tightening screws voids the warranty. Keep dated sales receipt for warranty.
* Please be careful when determining the make & model of your cabinet. If you are unsure of the make or model, please just specify the opening dimension (leave the make & model blank), and we will work with you to determine the right product. Do not measure another insert, the hole on the cabinet is the measurement we need. If you have an existing insert from Sew Steady, look for a number.
